LCD 40" como TV

Um conhecido tá querendo comprar TV de plasma, mas eu sugeri pra ele um monitor LCD da NEC de 40" "HDTV Ready".
Eu queria saber se dá pra usar como uma TV "comum", plugando dvd, home theater e o que mais ele possa ter.

lembre que a resolucao maxima dele 1080i (entrelaçado) nao é o progressivo! somente o 720p (progressivo)

acho que vale lembrar isso para nao se arrepender no futuro próximo quando as transmissoes forem em 1080p para voce nao perder qualidade pela conversao!
